Fire Capital Management was honored to be recognized by B Lab as a 2022 Best for the World™ B Corp in the Customers impact area.
The recognition was particularly meaningful to our team because it came during our first year as a Certified B Corporation and reflected our score in an area closely connected to the work we do for our clients.
About the Recognition
B Lab’s Best for the World™ recognition honored Certified B Corporations whose verified B Impact Assessment scores ranked in the top 5% of B Corps in their corresponding size group in one or more of five impact areas: Governance, Workers, Community, Environment, and Customers. Fire Capital Management was recognized in the Customers impact area, placing among the top 5% of B Corps in its corresponding size group based on its verified B Impact Assessment score. For investment management firms, the Customers impact area of the B Impact Assessment included an evaluation of practices related to customer stewardship, investments targeted toward positive impact and ESG considerations, investment criteria and processes, client education and outreach, portfolio management, and impact reporting.
Methodology & Important Disclosure
B Lab Global announced the 2022 Best for the World™ B Corps on July 13, 2022. The Best for the World™ recognition was administered by B Lab, the nonprofit organization responsible for B Corp Certification.
For the 2022 recognition, B Lab identified Certified B Corporations whose verified B Impact Assessment scores ranked in the top 5% of all B Corps within their corresponding size group in one or more of the five impact areas evaluated through the B Impact Assessment: Governance, Workers, Community, Environment, and Customers.
Fire Capital Management qualified for the 2022 Best for the World™ recognition based on its verified score in the Customers impact area. Fire Capital’s B Impact Assessment associated with this recognition was completed on September 13, 2021.
B Corp Certification evaluates a company’s social and environmental impact through the B Impact Assessment and includes additional certification requirements related to risk review, stakeholder governance, and transparency. Best for the World™ recognition was based specifically on a company’s verified B Impact Assessment score relative to other B Corps in its corresponding size group.
Fire Capital Management pays fees associated with maintaining its B Corp Certification. Fire Capital did not pay an additional fee to receive the 2022 Best for the World™ recognition or to be included among the companies recognized. The certification fees paid by Fire Capital did not influence its qualification for the Best for the World™ recognition.
The Best for the World™ recognition relates to Fire Capital Management’s B Impact Assessment and does not evaluate investment performance or investment returns. The recognition is not indicative of Fire Capital Management’s investment performance or the experience of any client and is not a guarantee of future results.
