The concept of the Metaverse has been around for decades, however common use of the term really began in 2021. While technology and marketing firms have been steadily increasing their focus on the metaverse space, the term thrust into mainstream in late October when The Facebook company officially changed its name to Meta. Here at Fire Capital, we believe the Metaverse will be a growing and persistent theme going forward. The digital world will continue to impact many facets of how individuals interact with each other as well as with businesses and advancements in the space provide an entirely new set of investment opportunities. While this is a space we plan on delving into much deeper, we have included an Introduction to the Metaverse primer as a start.
